Dacian Cioloș (born 27 July 1969 in Zalău) is a Romanian agricultural engineer and politician. He served as European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development in the European Commission under President José Manuel Barroso from February 2010 to November 2014. Previously, he was Romania’s Minister of Agriculture (2007‒2008), and later served as Prime Minister of Romania from 2015 to 2017.
